[New] Classes Spring and Summer 2013

In all of our classes we create a fun and supportive atmosphere in which students are able to thrive. For some students, our classes are places to enjoy themselves, meet people and learn to dance. For others, the ability to overcome the challenges of latin dance and experience connection with people through music and movement has a profound impact on their lives.

Mondays at Mount Pleasant Community Centre

What: Intermediate/Advanced Rueda [Smmr]
 
Intermediate and Advanced level moves. More musicality and more feedback to improve partner dancing skills. No partner necessary. Drop-ins welcome $17. No class August 5th. On Mount Pleasant Community Centre Calendar as "Salsa: Int/Adv (Rueda)"

Learn super fun intermediate level Cuban style moves and sensual body movement through Rueda de Casino (salsa danced in groups) and how to apply them to social dancing situations. No partner necessary...you'll find some there. Drop-ins welcome $17. No class Aug 5th.

Tuesdays at Beaumont Studios

What: Advanced Performance Series:

Performance series preparing for Canada Day performance at Hastings Community Centre (and potentially Robson Square and other summer performances).

When: Tuesdays, May 28th - June 25th, 7:30-9pm
Where: Beaumont Studios, 316 W. 5th (Entrance: Red doors in parking lot)
Cost: $50-75 (sliding scale)

Wednesdays at Beaumont Studios

What: June Partner Dancing Intensive - With Michael and Maria!

Our partner dancing classes give students a chance to practice specific skills for social dancing that are harder to teach in the rueda format. Intermediate cuban style salsa experience recommended. NO PARTNER NECESSARY!!! (you'll find some there)
 
When: Wednesdays, June 5th - June 26th, 6:15-7:30pm
Where: Beaumont Studios, 316 W. 5th (Entrance: Red doors in parking lot)
Cost: $50-90 for 4 sessions (two instructors)
(sliding scale...no one turned away for lack of funds)

What we'll do:
- Refine leading and following skills
- Teach various elements that are great in social dancing situations
- Work on transitions between various moves
- Give lots of feedback
- Do exercises to develop connection and creativity
- Work on body movement and style
- Have lots of fun!

What: Drop-In and Dance
When: 7:30-9PM
Where: Beaumont Studios 316 W. 5th (ENTER THROUGH RED DOORS IN PARKING LOT) MAP
Fee: $5-10 Sliding Scale (No one turned away for lack of funds)

NO PARTNER NECESSARY. Come dance, its a party!
